All defining points in his life have lead Peter to the Allied Marine team. A dynamic industry veteran having worked in both new vessel and brokerage sales and service, Peter’s past, present and future business acumen have involved most all aspects of recreational maritime, and his core business values are governed by safety then comfort.

The son of an accomplished architect and urban planner, Peter has an innate understanding of form and function. This aids and influences when shared during client consults and decisions. Award-winning accomplishments in wooden boatbuilding, vessel service, and marketing serve as channel markers fueling continued successful navigation for his clients.

Having lived most of his adult life in South Florida, this credentialed USCG/OUPV Captain spent his youth in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Radnor, on the “Main Line” and “Down the Shore” in Ocean City, NJ. First fish caught ever... flounder under the Longport Bridge.

Peter’s formative years were spent navigating the waters of South Florida out to the Bahama chain. Tournament Fishing, Surfing and Diving defined his lifestyle and business requirements. Broward College, retail and successful entrepreneurial ventures rounded out his thirties. Passages and ship delivery to and from The Chesapeake, locking through to Naples and hops over to the Westend for clear bottle Becks serve as some of his most memorable yachting runs.

Making a choice to raise his children in North Carolina with his wife Mary, Peter has now returned to Ft. Lauderdale, bringing his current understanding of maritime design, performance and customer desire back home. Yachting is now a big part of the Kurki family business as Peter’s daughter is a successful Bosun based locally and his collegiate son looks to define his own horizon. When not underway, Peter’s attention is given to community, culture and environment, and some recreational fun with family and friends.
