Additional Information

Norstar Yachts are known for their innovative design and exceptional finishes and Epiphany s timeless interior embodies those qualities quite beautifully. Entry to the salon is from the aft deck through the sliding lockable glass door. Humongous windows provide a nearly unbroken 360-degree view of your surroundings and really brighten Epiphany's interior, even with the rich teak and holly flooring and trim from floor to ceiling. At night, privacy comes easy by lowering the window shades that tuck behind a wood valance during the day.

Immediately to starboard is a raised L-shaped settee, which allows for good views outside for four or so folks. When the highly varnished teak dining table is lowered electronically, it doubles as an extra berth for two adults. Across from the dinette to port is a long storage cabinet with eight drawers, a cupboard, and a sophisticated in-cabinet electric lift TV. A countertop compartment holds a Dish Network DVR in place. Beyond the dinette and cabinet is the interior helm and two leather raised adjustable stools with arm and foot rests. Down a few steps into the bow is the port side u-shaped galley with a generous amount of counter space and surprising number of storage drawers and cabinets that rivals many apartments. A unique dish storage cubby creates a place for everything. The galley has a two-burner Princess stove, counter height sized refrigerator a microwave/convection oven, and a deep stainless steel sink. Access to the auxiliary machinery room can be done through hatches in the deck, the salon and by lifting up the stairs next to the galley.

To starboard from the galley is the vessel's spacious head, which has a separate shower with glass door and shower seat, a home-like toilet fixture, ample counter space and a large storage cubby, drawers and cabinet. A power ventilator lets humidity escape and keeps this room fresh. Water needs for the galley and head are met by the 100-gallon fresh water tank, 10-gallon hot water tank and a 35-gallon holding tanks. In the bow-located master berth, lay your head down on a comfortable queen sized island bed. Drawer storage is concealed in the bed frame and there are roomy port and starboard hanging lockers. The forced air hydronic furnace will keep the entire inside space of Epiphany warm and toasty from tip to stern.

Whether you plan to sail Epiphany on long range cruises, live on her full time, or both, she is certainly a yacht that will make it easy to admire and love her.

On Deck

Full cockpit canvass and glassine enclosure helps keep Epiphany's beautiful teak in beautiful shape and also acts like a heat insulator for the interior when you are aboard during the winter months. Even with her aft-mounted dinghy in place, you have enough room to come aboard the vessel via the swim deck and aft transom door. The self bailing cockpit is sizable, with plenty of room for a patio table and chairs or for wild fishing activities. The aft cabinet has a live well section, as well as a freezer section for your catch. Three hatches in the cockpit sole provide good access to the steering system and generator as well as lots of fender storage and access to the engine room. The bottom edges of the cockpit lockers allow for a toe space so you have a secure place to jam your feet fighting the big one. Molded steps and handrails make traversing the side decks a breeze. The bow has plenty of standing room for fishing, but also makes a perfect sunbathing location.

Up a short ladder from the cockpit takes you to a welcoming flybridge. Two swivel helm chairs with arm rests flank a centerline helm station. Behind them is a four-person cushioned settee with storage and a cocktail table. There is plenty of leg room for even your tallest friends up here. The tinted windscreen adds to Epiphany s sleek appearance. When not in use, the flybridge is protected from the elements by a matching canvass cover.

For her size and weight, Epiphany can travel quite briskly. She is powered by two effective 2007 Cummins QSB5.9 380 horsepower diesel engines with only 450 hours on each, just barely broken in. Her cruise speed is 15-25 knots at 2,300 rpm and she has a top speed of 30 knots. She carries 400 gallons of fuel and her range is approximately 350 nautical miles. Her Custom Norstar wet heat exchanger works well to cool exhaust and prevent heat damage. Both helms have hydronic steering and electronic controls. When anchoring is needed, lower the Bruce 33 pound anchor with 50 feet of chain and 200' of line on with electric winch. One of the interesting features is that the entire aft bulkhead is designed so that it can be removed without cutting the fiberglass in case the engine needs replacing. Norstar Yachts claims that an engine can be swapped out in half a day. The cockpit mold can also be removed without cutting for full access to the tanks. These are well thought out aspects that show that Norstar boats are designed to last.

Electronics and Electric

Both the main helm and the flybridge helm have separate navigation electronics systems centered around Raymarine equipment, including a GPS, plotter and autopilot. The radar is a Raytheon and each helm also has a Uniden VHF for communications. Visibility through the windshield of the interior helm is kept clear by the ducted windshield defog system, windshield fans, and electric wipers. You also have a Sirius XM satellite weather receiver so you can get notified if weather patterns suddenly change. Also included is the intellian satellite TV antenna for great viewing while at anchor or underway. This package also comes with a battery charger, alternator, a Magnum inverter and two 2015 start batteries with 6- 6volt house batteries new in 2016. At the dock, plug her in to 30 amp shore power. She also has a 5 kw Onan diesel genset, vastly reducing your chances of power loss while at sea. While entertaining, keep the conversation flowing with background tunes playing through the deck speakers via the on-board stereo system.
